The Sandhills SAR Chapter held our June Dinner Meeting at the Pine Crest Inn on June 22nd. (Please see the attached pictures)
Our June dinner was very well attended with DAR representatives from 3 DAR Chapters. DAR Chapters Represented; General Henry William Harrington Chapter – Rockingham, The Alfred Moore Chapter (Southern Pines), The Richard Dobbs Spaight DR Chapter (New Bern, NC).
A SAR membership Induction ceremony was conducted for Reverend Dan Blair from Hamlet, NC. Dan’s Mom, DAR Daughter – Mrs. Eloise Collins (Richard Dobbs Spaight – DAR Chapter in New Bern, NC) pinned Dan’s SAR Rosette.

A 10 Year SAR Service Certificate was awarded to Sandhills Compatriot – Mr. James Blank of Pinehurst, NC. Congratulations and thank you for your continued support of the SAR. Compatriot Blank was not able to attend.
Our guest speaker, Rani Battle gave a very interesting presentation “Acts Of Discord: The Stamp Act of 1765, as a Forerunner to the American Revolution”. This topic was very timely after the 250th Anniversary of the Alamance Battle Ceremony (May 15th). Sandhills Chapter thanked Rani Battle with a Certificate of Appreciation for her interesting presentation.
Sandhills SAR Chapter Color Guard Commander, Compatriot Victor McMurry, led the newly formed Sandhills SAR Chapter Color Guard in its first official SAR ceremony. Thank you for all your leadership, Color Guard Commander McMurry. We hope to expand the size of our Color Guard in the future.
