Speaker: After dinner, Trent Carter will present an interpretation of General Charles Cornwallis and his British Southern Campaign, starting in Charleston and ending in his surrender to the Continental Army, at Yorktown Virginia.

Trent Carter is a native son of Fayetteville NC and was graduated from Campbell University with a BS in Social Science as well as earning a Master’s in History from Appalachian State University, and a Master’s in Education Administration and Public Administration from East Carolina University. He also attended school at Oxford University, England. He joined the US Army in 1970 and served for 26 years ending his career as a Lt Colonel (Ret.). Trent has taught History at Fayetteville Tech, Fayetteville State University, Campbell University and Geography at St. Andrews University. He also taught History and Civics at Pinecrest High School. He has been a re-enactor of the Revolutionary War for over 50 years and his latest portrayal is that of General Cornwallis. Trent is an active member of Brownson Memorial Presbyterian Church and is a 32 degree Mason.
